Boarding increases independence, confidence, social skills and resillience

I think the overall benefit of boarding was the life skills and independence I learnt from boarding. Given my home life I would have never learnt them at home. I learnt so much from my house tutors: everything from how to make a bed to how to communicate with people in the right way. I learnt to organise myself and self-discipline. I look at my brother and sister now and think they haven't got a clue how to go about everyday things.

Boarding provides a literally life changing experience for our young people

Children experience stability, pastoral care and support in a boarding school environment.  This helps them to access their education, enabling them to reach their full potential. It removes the barriers to high achievement by offering a nurturing, safe and secure environment. It offers routine, structure, nutritious food and help with homework. The children we support tell us they have access to an unbelievable range of out of school activities and clubs, have made life-long friendships and increased their self-worth and confidence. They are often in daily contact with their families and spend regular time at home, but through their boarding placement they achieve well academically, maintain a strong emotional well-being and develop high ambition and aspirations for their futures.

Pastoral care

In addition to the fantastic pastoral support of the school, Reedham carry out regular home visits so as to continually monitor the well-being and progression of the young people they support.  We are also able to offer help, dependent on circumstances, with funding towards uniform, study related items and travel expenses.
