Henry Weir - Our Ambassador Born in Croydon, International Hockey Hero Henry Weir has always felt passionate about helping young people to achieve more, especially in the town he was born in. As a child coming from humble beginnings, Henry has always wanted to play Hockey for his country and went on to fulfil that dream at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio and also winning Bronze Medals at two Commonwealth Games and the EuroHockey Championships. With nearly 200 International appearances, Henry Weir has enjoyed travelling the world whilst representing his country. Henry is a great example of how our young people can strive to achieve their best and pursue their dreams. ‘Support growing up especially through the early years is so important … With a support network comes role models – to help children to be able to express themselves, to also teach them the sort of skills they need to overcome adversity. Be Kind to themselves and really get through life and go after what they want.’ - Henry Weir Having Henry as our Ambassador will not only inspire our young people, but also give them hope to create positive change that will help shape their future.
